Coloring for a Cure

Stingrays hockey players join Nikki Byars from the Landon Strong Foundation, and Amber and Kristin from SERVPRO of Greater Northern Charleston.

Our partnership with the local minor league hockey team the South Carolina Stingrays has been nothing but phenomenal over the years, and in 2025 we had the honor and opportunity to expand on that relationship with the Stingrays introducing us to the Landon Strong Foundation.  We enjoy working with local non-profit charities whenever possible, and with the Landon Strong Foundation we got to work directly with founder Nikki Byars and her wonderful charity building support for families stricken with Cancer, specifically helping them with financial burdens that can cripple a family while they deal with the emotional and physical toll of having a family member go through cancer. 

We were able to partner with the Stingrays and the Landon Strong foundation for Coloring for a Cure, a great event to help build awareness and support for the Landon Strong Foundation, and MUSC Kids, where children are currently being treated for different forms of Cancer.  We had a chance to go down to MUSC with our friends from the Stingrays and Landon Strong Foundation to draw with children. The kids had a chance to also meet and hangout with some pretty cool Hockey players as well.  It was a joy to see the light in these children’s eyes as they drew and talked with us.  The courage of these children is truly inspiring.

SERVPRO of Greater Northern Charleston and Dorchester County believes in supporting our community however we can, and we truly appreciated the opportunity to support the Landon Strong Foundation for our Jersey Night for Coloring for a Cure, and the Stingrays designed an amazing jersey to honor kids with cancer, with a truly colorful jersey filled with the drawings and designs from children at the MUSC Children’s Hospital.  We were proud to be able to sponsor that night, and help with a donation to the Landon Strong Foundation.  We are so thankful to be a restoration company in the Charleston area where we can be a part of great initiatives like this.

Thanks to Nikki at the Landon Strong Foundation for working with us, and to Mario at the Stingrays for helping put this altogether.   It’s important for SERVPRO, and it’s important to us here at our franchise, to be able to help the community, and bring about awareness and support for those families impacted by cancer.
